The Association of Friends and Supporters of RWTH Aachen University proRWTH e. V. wants that you feel safe. Therefore here are some infoation about what happens to the data that is given to us (knowingly or unknowingly) when you visit our webpages.
The legal basis for the handling with personal data is the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the Data Protection Act of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia (DSG NRW). Below you will find information about the person who is responsible for the website www.proRWTH.de, about the handling of personal data when you visit our website, as well as about your rights and options of objection.

General information on data handling

Personal Data

Personal data is all data that can be personally related to you, e.g. name, address, email address or your user behavior.

Scope of processing personal data
In principle, we only process personal data of our users to ensure a functional website and the provision of our content and services. Personal data is regularly handled only with the user’s consent (e.g. if you request information material via email). An exception applies in cases in which obtaining prior consent is not possible for reasons and the handling of the data is permitted by legal regulations.

Legal basis for processing personal data
If we ask for consent of using/handling your personal data, Article 6 Paragraph 1 Letter a of the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) serves as the legal basis.
When your personal data is necessary to fulfill a contract to which you are a party of, Art. 6 Para. 1 lit. b GDPR serves as the legal basis. This also applies to procedures that are necessary to carry out pre-contractual procedures (e.g. sending information material and/or an application for membership).
If the processing is necessary to protect a legitimate interest of our support association or a third party and if the interests, fundamental rights and freedoms of the data subject do not dominate the first-mentioned interest, Art. 6 Para. 1 lit. f GDPR serves as the legal basis for the processing.

Data wipe and storage period
Your personal data will be deleted or blocked as soon as the purpose of storage no longer applies. We can store your personal if this has been included in European or national regulations, laws or other regulations to which proRWTH e.V. is subject to. The data will also be blocked or deleted if a prescribed storage period expires, unless there is a need for further storage of the data to conclude or fulfill a contract.

If you use our website just for information and do not provide us with any (personal) information in any other way (e.g. via email), we only collect the personal data that your browser transmits to our servers. Our website is hosted by the web host ALL-INKL.COM (address: ALL-INKL.COM, Neue Medien Münnich, Hauptstraße 68 | D-02742 Friedersdorf). When you enter our websites, we collect the following data based on our interest in accordance with Art. 6 Para. 1 lit. f GDPR, which are technically necessary for us to provide you our website and to ensure stability and security (creation of log files):

  • IP browser type/version
  • Operating system used by the user
  • Referrer URL (the previously visited webpage)
  • URL of the retrieved file
  • User’s IP address
  • Date and time of the server request
  • HTTP status code

We use this information exclusively to optimize our website and for error analysis. We will not compare it with other data given or transfer it to third parties, even not in extracts. We reserve the right to subsequently check this data if there is suspicion of unlawful use of our website and to pass it on to authorized third parties. The data will be automatically deleted after 7 days at the latest.

Possibility of objection and deletion
The collection of data and the storage of the data in log files is absolutely necessary for the operation of this website. Therefore it is not possible for the user to object.

Information about Google Web Fonts
This site uses so-called web fonts, which are provided by Google LLC (Google), 1600 Amphitheater Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA, email: support-de@google.com. When you enter a webpage, your browser loads the required web fonts into your browser cache in order to display texts and fonts correctly. This sends information to the server about which of our websites you have visited. The IP address of the browser of your will be also stored by Google. If your browser does not support web fonts, your computer will use a standard font.

Description and scope of data handling
You can contact our office via email (address on proRWTH website). Please note that your personal data transmitted to proRWTH e.V. via mail or email will be stored. Your data is only used for the conversation between you and proRWTH e.V. and will not be passed on to third parties.
The legal basis for this is Article 6 (1) (f) GDPR. If your email is send with the aim of concluding a contract (e.g. membership in proRWTH e.V.), the additional legal basis is Art. 6 Para. 1 lit. b GDPR.

Possibility of objection and deletion of personal data
If you contact us by email, you can object to the storage of your personal data at any time and we will not contact you furthermore. You can send us your objection in writing by mail or email. In this case, all personal data that was stored in the course of contacting us will be deleted.

We have included various links to other websites. By following these external links the information mentioned in section 1 will be transmitted to the operator of the other website. This data protection declaration does not regulate the collection, transfer or handling of personal data by third parties. 5 Changes to the private policy
We reserve the right to review and change this private policy declaration at a regular basis. We will inform you about any changes via our website.
